These terms govern your use of the Pharmers Academy website and learning platform (the “Platform”) and your purchase of any course. By creating an account or enrolling in a course you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. Who we are
The Platform is operated by Pharmers Academy, based in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at info@pharmersacademy.africaor 012 646 1713. This information is provided in compliance with section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”).
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date.
- Your account is personal. Keep your password confidential and do not share your login with anyone else — course access and certificates are issued to the named account holder only.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
- You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a course.
3. Courses, enrolment and access
- Course descriptions, prices (in South African Rand, ZAR) and inclusions are set out on each course page before you pay.
- Access to a paid course is granted once your payment is confirmed by our payment processor. Access is a personal, non-transferable licence to view and use the course content for your own learning.
- Modules unlock sequentially: you must pass each module’s assessment before the next one opens.
- We may update, improve or correct course content from time to time. If a course is permanently withdrawn while you are actively studying it, we will offer you a reasonable alternative or a pro-rata refund.
4. Payments
Course fees are payable in advance. While online card payments are being finalised, payment is made by EFT using the details we send you via WhatsApp or email, and your enrolment is activated once payment reflects. When online card payments launch they will be processed securely by PayFast(a licensed South African payment services provider) — your card details are entered on PayFast’s secure pages and never touch our servers. In all cases we store only the payment reference, amount and status needed for your enrolment record and our accounting.
5. Cancellations and refunds
Our Refund Policy forms part of these terms. In summary: you may cancel within 7 days of purchase for a full refund provided you have not substantially consumed the course, as provided for in section 44 of ECTA.
6. Intellectual property
- All course materials — videos, notes, PDFs, quizzes, artwork and the Platform itself — are owned by or licensed to Pharmers Academy and are protected by copyright.
- You may not copy, record, download (except where a download button is provided), share, resell, or publish course materials, or make them available to anyone else, without our prior written consent.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share accounts or assessment answers, or complete assessments on another person’s behalf;
- attempt to bypass payment, module locking, or any security control;
- upload unlawful content or interfere with the operation of the Platform;
- use the Platform to infringe anyone else’s rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. Certificates obtained through misconduct may be revoked.
8. Certificates
On completing all modules of a course you receive a Pharmers Academy Certificate of Completion with a unique serial number, which anyone can verify on our public verification page. Unless a course page expressly states otherwise, our courses are skills-development short courses and certificates of completion — they are not accredited qualifications registered on the NQF, and do not by themselves confer professional registration.
9. Disclaimers and liability
- Course content is provided for education and professional development. It is not medical, legal or regulatory advice for any specific situation; always follow applicable legislation, SAHPRA guidance and your employer’s procedures.
- We work hard to keep the Platform available and content accurate, but the Platform is provided “as is” and we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law (including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008), our total liability to you in respect of any course is limited to the amount you paid for that course. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Privacy
We process your personal information in line with our Privacy Policyand the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).
11. General
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
- We may update these terms from time to time; the version published on this page applies. Material changes will be announced on the Platform.
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
